Strabag to modernise Sucha Beskidzka – Zywiec line

Polish infrastructure operator PKP PLK has signed a contract with Strabag for the modernisation of the railway connection between Sucha Beskidzka and Zywiec. The line connects the voivodeships of Lesser Poland and Silesia. The design and construction contract, worth around €83.4 million (PLN 360 million), will be financed by the National Reconstruction and Resilience Plan KPO. As part of the contract, 35 km of track, as well as the train network and railway traffic control equipment will be renovated. PKP PLK plans to renovate 90 culverts and 55 level crossings in five cities to improve the standard of the line and make travelling safer. The project will provide better accessibility for passengers by modernising platforms at nine stations and stops.
