Five additional transport hubs and AI for railway operations

The Kazakh government is planning to expand the country's logistics infrastructure by building five additional transport hubs. These are intended to increase the capacity of the Eurasian transport network. Transport hubs are planned on the borders with China, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and the Caspian Sea. In addition, the country will build 5,000 km of new railway lines and repair over 11,000 km of existing lines. In addition to expanding the infrastructure, Kazakhstan is planning to increase efficiency through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in rail freight transport. The government also proposed the creation of a Eurasian digital corridor to harmonise tariffs and customs procedures and enable remote verification of goods registration documents using QR codes.
