The Norwegian infrastructure manager Bane Nor and the UK railway infrastructure manager Network Rail have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on modernising and rationalising the maintenance of their railway infrastructure. The cooperation includes the exchange of routines and experiences ranging from smarter and targeted maintenance to digitalisation and new development. Both companies, which are facing similar challenges such as the introduction of the European train control system ERTMS, aim to improve their operational processes through this cooperation.
