Trondheim Municipality has invited tenders for the procurement of a new rail-bound maintenance vehicle for the Gråkallbanen light rail transit line (LRT line). The vehicle, worth €2.4 million (NOK 29 million), will be used for transport and maintenance work throughout the year as well as for snow clearing in winter and will replace the old machine from manufacturer Robel from the 1970s. The vehicle must have a track width of 1,000 mm and a curve radius of 18 m. The contract also includes a five-year service agreement and staff training. There is an option to supply a ballast wagon compatible with the maintenance vehicle. The deadline for receipt of bids is 29th August 2024.
